Naturalization Public Engagement

The City of Edmonton is committed to building a healthy, climate-resilient city, working toward a goal of planting two million trees by 2031 to expand our forest canopy to 20% by 2071.

To reach these goals and build a vibrant and healthy urban environment, we are undertaking a process of naturalization. The City is restoring select areas of open spaces to a more natural state, expanding our urban forest and supporting the native plant and animal species found in our region.

The City of Edmonton will be planting new tree and shrub seedlings in Windermere. We are currently conducting an online public engagement survey to understand the preferences of communities when naturalizing the areas where you live, work and play. This engagement aims to refine the City’s plan on how to plant trees and shrubs at selected sites while ensuring alignment with the site’s current usage and community values.

To participate in public engagement for your neighbourhood, please visit engaged.edmonton.ca/naturalizationplantingsites. Explore the neighbourhood map to see the planned naturalization sites and provide your feedback on planting priorities. Feedback will be accepted until April 26, 2026.

Thank you for taking time to participate!

2024 Fee Reminder

Dear Owner,

We are pleased to link a copy of the 2024-2025 operating budget for the One at Windermere community. The Board of Directors has discussed and analyzed the expenses and financial obligations of the Association for the upcoming fiscal year. Through this analysis it was determined that the fees are insufficient to meet the financial obligations. Thus, the Association fees will increase by $25 for the fiscal period April 1, 2024, through to March 31, 2025. The HOA has a GST number and GST will be charged going forward. The Homeowner’s Association fees for your property will be $225 plus GST, effective April 1, 2024. The GST number for the HOA is 79771 9200 RT0001.

Please note, interest will be applied to all outstanding accounts at 18% per annum as of May 1, 2024. Unpaid accounts will be subject to a $50 additional charge on July 1, 2024, as per the Board of Directors, for additional collection work. If accounts continue to remain unpaid, they will be sent to a collection agency on August 1, 2024, with further additional costs being applied for their services.

The One at Windermere Homeowners Association is a non-profit organization. Your funds are used to pay for insurance, enhance the lawns, the entrance flower features, prune shrubs, maintain glass signs and electrical lighting for these signs. For more information, please see the enclosed budget.

Last year, the Board of Directors worked diligently to care for the community by watering the flowers through the drought, adding doggy bag dispensers throughout the community and maintaining them, painting benches in the community, picking up litter, and looking into long term solutions for the numerous mulch beds that have lost mulch and are becoming overgrown with weeds. For the coming fiscal year, the Board of Directors is looking forward to improving the 3 flower beds, continuing to enhance the mowing and looking into ground cover plants for mulch beds.

We are pleased to announce our new payment methods. If you login to https://central.ivrnet.com/oneatwindermere using your email address and setup a password, you will be able to see we now offer an online option and telepay. Regards,

One at Windermere
